Neru films recognizes the huge potential that cinema has, as a medium for communicating with the people. It is in such a context that we began our activities for the film called Chayilyam, the money for which, would come from the people themselves.
The fund is being collected as donations and shares, for which organizing comittes have been formed, inside and outside Kerala, including the gulf countries. The co operation of Kalasamiti’s. is also being solicited. A solo drama Dot Com is being performed for the purpose. Also, a campus theatre troupe is planned, which would travel through all the college campuses of Kerala. It is intended to create a new cinema consciousness in campuses and collect funds. The drama Dot Com would be performed as part of this programme. In this way Chayilyam is being planned as an extensively popular Endeavour.

Chayilyam

The cinema would look at the struggles and resistances in a woman’s life so as to retrieve her forbidden identity. The ritualistic art of Theyyam of North Malabar will serve as the background of the film.

‘Chaiyiliam’ the maiden film venture under Neru films has made substantial progress with the completion of Shoot and editing work .At present the dubbing is in progress. The film is targeted for an October 2011 release. More details

Dot Com

Dot Com represents the life of a computer engineer who works in the IT field. He completes engineering and enters a job. His own efforts as well as the full fledged support of his family, in money and time goes into his success. Dot Com represents the different life situations in the periods, before he gets the job and after, and finally after he gets suspended from the company. This one hour drama, which encorporates magic, choreography etc is interesting, both for its novelty in presentation as well as the way in which it handles the burning issues of modernity. It has been received with huge applauses at the various places of its performance. The drama which was inaugurated at the National Theatre in Sharjah, is being played in and out of Kerala for the purpose of gathering funds for the film.
